Our Red Chilli Powder uses Byadagi chillies from Karnataka — a variety prized for its deep blood-red colour and moderate heat (2,500-3,000 Scoville units). Byadagi chillies get their intense colour from high capsanthin content, not artificial colour.
Commercial chilli powder brands routinely add Rhodamine B, Sudan Red, or other synthetic dyes to enhance colour. These artificial dyes are carcinogenic and banned for use in food — yet regularly detected in market samples. Our chilli powder is 100% sun-dried Byadagi chillies, stone ground, with no additives whatsoever.
